Cottrell Aviation Services is a family company formed out of necessity.
Caught in the instability of the aviation industry of the mid 2000’s, Capt. Trey Cottrell, a furloughed airline and corporate pilot, formed a small LLC to provide contract pilot services primarily on the Hawker 400 series. Over the next few years, he became the go-to solution for anyone requiring instructor pilots and international crew on that model.
From North Atlantic Crossings in the winter, to factory deliveries to Central America and even pilot training for foreign governments Trey did it all. Eventually, this resulted in being contracted as Chief Operations Officer of a medevac airline in Indonesia. During this time, Trey gained a wealth of experience from operations both large and small, collecting a vast knowledge of what worked and what did not work.
Upon returning to America, this knowledge was used in advising clients on aircraft management, legal issues and providing crew support.
More than 20 years later CAS has grown into a multi-pilot operations team built around a core of select, experienced, professional aviators from both military and civilian backgrounds. Our staff are hand-picked with resumes from the top schools and organizations of the aviation industry.
